These conditions govern access to and use of this website. Reading a page, following a link, or submitting a search means that you accept them. If you disagree with any condition, do not continue using the site.

NO FCRA USE. Jackson County Criminal History is privately operated and has no affiliation with a local, Kentucky, or federal government body. Neither the site nor its advertising partners offer a service for credit, employment, insurance, tenant, or other decisions governed by the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA). This is a records-reference resource, not a private investigator or consumer reporting agency.

1. What This Website Is

This is a private reference site with no government connection. It neither stores official criminal records nor retrieves records, performs official checks, or files documents for a user.

Its content identifies official Jackson County and Kentucky sources, including the sheriff, the Circuit Court Clerk, Kentucky State Police, and the Kentucky State Police Sex Offender Registry. Some pages also connect visitors to tools operated by third parties.

2. Rules for Using This Site

Use of the site is conditioned on an agreement not to:

  • Use the site in violation of federal, Kentucky, or local law
  • Threaten, stalk, or harass a person with information found here
  • Use content for hiring, housing, lending, insurance, or another FCRA-regulated decision
  • Attempt unauthorized entry into any system or account

3. No Harassment, Stalking, or Discrimination

No information obtained here or through a linked tool may be used to intimidate, threaten, stalk, harass, or discriminate against anyone. Misuse may also break the law. Kentucky State Police Sex Offender Registry data is published for public-safety awareness, not vigilante acts or blacklisting. Kentucky State Police warns that harassment can violate KRS 525.070 or KRS 525.080 and can result in criminal penalties.

4. We Are Not a Consumer Reporting Agency

We are not a consumer reporting agency under the FCRA and do not create a consumer report, credit report, or official background check. The same is true of services offered here by advertising partners. Content from this site or a linked tool must not be used to:

  • Make an employment decision
  • Evaluate a rental or housing application
  • Set insurance terms or assess creditworthiness
  • Decide eligibility for a permit, license, or public benefit
  • Carry out any other purpose regulated by the FCRA

A legally compliant check for such a purpose must come through the correct authorized Kentucky State Police process or an FCRA-compliant provider.

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from claims, demands, or legal actions caused by your use of the site or violation of these terms, including related costs and legal fees.

11. Governing Law

Kentucky law governs these terms. Any dispute related to site use must be brought in a court located in Kentucky. Official record access remains subject to the Kentucky Open Records Act, KRS 61.870 through 61.884, judicial access rules, KRS 17.150, and applicable criminal-history dissemination limits.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may revise these terms. A revision becomes effective when the updated text is posted on this page.

13. Cutting Off Access

We may suspend or end access at any time, with or without advance notice.

14. Severability

If one provision is held invalid or unenforceable, the remaining terms continue in effect. The affected provision will be narrowed only as needed to make it enforceable.
